I’ve been listening to a lot of old episodes of Desert Island Discs recently after stumbling across and enjoying Bob Harris’ episode from February 2014.
For those of you that don’t know, Desert Island Discs is a BBC Radio 4 programme in which a guest is invited by the presenter to choose the eight recordings (I think originally they were gramophone records) they would take with them to a desert island. The first episode was recorded by the creator Roy Plomley in 1942. Michael Parkinson took over in 1985 and Sue Lawley presented for 18 years from 1988. Kirsty Young is the current presenter.
