Loves & Hates – No. 4

It’s been a while since I have written a post on my loves and hates but I have a few this time and I wanted to share them with you before the list got far too long!

The Good Place – Currently there are two seasons of The Good Place on Netflix and a confirmed third season.

Kristen Bell plays Eleanor Shellstrop who has passed away.  She meets Michael (Ted Danson) in the afterlife who introduces her to The Good Place – a place that he designed to be like Heaven – but she realises that she was sent there by mistake and that in order to keep her place, she needs to try to become a better person.  That’s about all I can tell you without spoiling it for you.  It’s funny and the episodes are only about twenty minutes each so you can binge watch.

The Greatest Showman Soundtrack – If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I am obsessed with this soundtrack ever since I went to see the film at the beginning of the year.  It’s the best soundtrack I have heard in a very long time and I am currently playing it to death and I’m not sick of it yet, although I think my neighbours might be sick of my singing!!

“How To Stop Time” – Matt Haig – I was given an illustrated copy of this for Christmas and I am about quarter of the way through.  It’s about a guy called Tom Hazard who has been alive for a rather long time and whilst he looks 41, he has been around for centuries due to a rare condition that he has.  If anyone finds out his secret, he has to change his identity in order for him to stay alive.  It seems he has done this a few times up to now.

I’m loving it so far – I’ll write a full review once I have finished it.  I haven’t read a “proper book” for a long time as I tend to read them on my Kindle but as this is illustrated, it really needs to be read in book form. The illustrations are by Chris Riddell and really adds to the enjoyment of the book.

Healthy Food Guide – I have subscribed to this magazine since its first issue and I really enjoy reading it.  It’s full of “practical ideas from the experts” but it’s not a gimmicky magazine.  You won’t find any fad diets and the information is presented in a way that you can easily understand.  Their website is also full of useful information.  March issue is out now and includes articles on making every calorie count, food pairings that deliver extra nutrition, fighting fatigue and so much more.

Chris Country Radio – You’ll know if you’ve read my first Loves & Hates that I love country music.  Chris County Radio is all country music!  Bliss!  If I’m not dancing round my kitchen listening to The Greatest Showman, I’m listening to Chris Country.

The Gifted – I tried to like this and hubby & I watched a few episodes, but I just didn’t get the point of it.

What you have been loving and hating recently?  Let me know in the comments.

  1. Admiring the commitment you put into your site and in depth information you offer.

It’s nice to come across a blog every once
in a while that isn’t the same outdated rehashed material.
Wonderful read! I’ve saved your site and I’m including your RSS feeds to my Google account.
